After 28 years as a Design and Technology teacher, Darren chose to leave the classroom in search of a new path that balanced creativity, sustainability, and livelihood. Supported by his family, he began salvaging local waste materials to experiment with furniture, insect refuges, and ultimately the distinctive, dual-purpose metal sculptures with integral insect habitats that would become D’Sculpted.

Claire's work has been described as quirky, intricate and multi-layered. Designs begin as hand-drawn doodles and sketches that are then brought together and digitally enhanced with rich textures and colour. Inspired by the natural world, her work often features floral motifs, birds and fish interwoven with abstract elements and organic textures. Colour plays an important role in her work and it can be vibrant, playful and unusual..

Living and working in the Hampshire countryside, surrounded by sheep, horses and all rural life and nature have to offer - there's so much here to keep me inspired but it's the peace that comes from being outside that I really want to capture in my work.
Painting subjects that uplift me, with colours that excite me, using marks that make me happy. Using handwritten annotations, layers of mixed media and the use of vibrant and varied colour.

I originally trained in Woven Textile Design which is where my love for experimenting with colour and materials originates – unexpected results can often be the most satisfying and beautiful! The processes I use make it almost impossible to repeat a design exactly, and this lends each piece a unique quality. Inspiration comes from many sources, but nature and art play a big part – my favourite things to do include walking in the countryside and visiting gardens and exhibitions – who knows what will spark the germ of an idea?! It’s very exciting, and I love what I do!

West Yorkshire born and raised, I am a digital and traditional artist now based in the South-West.
I have worked in-house as a sketch artist & illustrator for a creative agency in London, working on major film and TV campaigns. Now I am working freelance across a range of industries, from advertising to book publishing, film and museum exhibitions. And that’s how I like it, varied work with a whole range of different briefs. Whatever the project, I enjoy exploring new challenges and different styles of art.
